Don’t Update Your iPhone Just Yet - Firmware Bombs
Apple released a firmware update on August 18 hoping to fix 3G connection issues. Unfortunately, the fix seems to be causing more problems and new issues like interfering with the Global Positioning System (GPS) function.
Some report a jerky scrolling in applications like looking at photos and e-mail lists. Anything that had long lists didn’t like to scroll but on the previous firmware, it was very, very fast. Others reported having no issues with the original firmware but are now having problems after installing the update. Some are trying to reinstall the original firmware to avoid the new issues.
iPhone users are upset because they have to go through two patches in a month and a half.
Hard-core Apple loyalists are beginning to question Apple’s shine. Before, it seemed that Apple could do no wrong and these problems are tarnishing Apple’s image.
