Tropical storm Pepeng {Parma} (downgraded from Typhoon Pepeng {Parma} ) weakens over Northern Luzon. Typhoon Quedan {Melor} on the far right.

At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "PEPENG" {PARMA} was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 170 kms North Northwest of Laoag City (19.8°N, 120.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is forecast to remain almost stationary. Meanwhile, Typhoon "QUEDAN" {MELOR} was located at 910 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (21.9°N, 131.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 26 kph.
