The body mass index is calculated from an individual's weight divided by the square of the height. The U.S. National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute uses the body mass index to classify obesity. Please note this is only a guide and does not take into account body frame or large muscle volume for example in athletes and body builders
The BMI values correspond to the following body analysis:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
