At 2:00 a.m. the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 240 km West of Northern Luzon(17.8°N, 118.0°E) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting the whole country.

Tropical Cyclone Update As of today, 10 August 2010 no tropical cyclone existing within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm “Ester” upgraded from Tropical Depression was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 410 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.3°N 125.2°E) with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move North Northeast at 15 kph.

At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression “Domeng” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 240 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes (19.3°N 124.2°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Southwest at 19 kph. Meanwhile a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 940 km East of Luzon (16.5°N 132.5°E).

At 2:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression "Domeng" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 460 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.7°N 128.4°E) with maximum winds of 45 kph near the center. It is forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph. A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 670 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.8°N 128.9°E).
 
At 11:00 a.m, today, 04 August 2010, Tropical Depression "Domeng" has maintained its strength as it continues to move in the general direction of Northern Luzon.
