At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm “Ester” was estimated based on radar, satellite and surface data at 530 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (24.6°N 125.6°E) with maximum winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move North Northeast at 15 kph.

At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression “Domeng” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 240 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes (19.3°N 124.2°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Southwest at 19 kph. Meanwhile a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 940 km East of Luzon (16.5°N 132.5°E).

This is a photo of Taal Volcano taken last April 3, 2010. It seems like the volcano has released lava. BUT according to PhiVolcs, it is probably just a result of “kaingin” where farmers cut and burn grass (and trash…).
