UST Singers Wows Spain
The UST Singers choir wowed audiences in Spain during the XXIX Festival International de Cant Coral Catalunya. Their repertoire included Gospel songs, Filipino songs, Spanish folk songs (sung in Castilian, Gallego, and Basque) and Latin American songs like Eres Tu and Guantanamera, and Broadway songs.
The UST Singers received a standing ovation for their Broadway portion and their surprise number, a Catalan folk song "El Rossinyol (The Nightingale)."
The Spanish audience lined up afterwards to congratulate them and purchased their CDs.
Founded in 1992, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Singers is a mixed choral ensemble composed of a select group of students and alumni.
